Excitement and shock hit the global gaming community as alleged gameplay footage and the full in game map of Grand Theft Auto 6 leaked all over social media. The unexpected breach occurred just days before Rockstar Games was scheduled to premiere its official Grand Theft Auto VI An Extended Look showcase on Netflix on August 27.

The leaked clips, allegedly shared by an online group named CyberLeek, showcase one of the main protagonists, Jason, in action. In the videos, Jason is seen relaxing outside a waterfront safehouse and shooting hoops in a basketball mini game that raises a new Focus character stat. Another intense clip shows Jason getting into a physical roadside fight after a vehicle crash, revealing upgraded hand to hand combat, a stamina gauge, and the return of the classic six star police wanted system.

Full Leonida Map Revealed and Official Release Timeline

Alongside the gameplay videos, a detailed image of the entire state of Leonida surfaced online. The map showcases a massive open world featuring the vibrant neon city of Vice City on the east coast, vast rural wetlands, and a long chain of southern islands resembling the Florida Keys. Several counties are marked on the map, including Leonard, Kelly, Vice Dale, Mariana, and a newly spotted region called Lummox.

Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take Two Interactive, have moved quickly to issue copyright takedowns across the internet to scrub the leaked clips. Despite the surprise leaks, the official showcase is still scheduled to drop on Netflix on August 27, followed by the highly awaited global launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series XS on November 19.
