Severe political turbulence has hit Washington after former Miss Switzerland Beatrice Keul accused US President Donald Trump of raping her at a New York hotel in 1993. The explosive claim was detailed in a 53 page report released by Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee.
According to the report Keul who was 24 at the time met Trump at Manhattan Plaza Hotel during a beauty pageant event. Keul claims Trump offered to arrange a US visa and help her secure admission to New York University before luring her to a private suite. She described the subsequent assault as brutal alleging that her dress was torn and she was left bleeding.
Keul further alleged that pageant organizers held her passport preventing her from fleeing immediately. The report also details how disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein was present at the event and actively helped recruit contestants. The White House strongly rejected the allegations labeling the report a politically motivated smear campaign aimed at influencing public opinion. Trump has not been charged with any crime regarding Keul statements but the fresh claims have triggered intense global debates.
