In a major move to protect customer health, food delivery giant Zomato has announced a strict zero tolerance policy against fake dairy products on its platform. Starting today, Zomato has banned all dishes prepared using "analogue" dairy products, including fake paneer, artificial cheese, and substitute milk products.

Analogue dairy items are cheap substitutes made using vegetable oils, starches, and artificial chemical additives instead of real milk fat. While they look and taste similar to real paneer or cheese, they lack genuine nutrition and raise safety concerns among consumers.

Zomato confirmed that any dish declared by restaurants as containing artificial dairy has been removed from the app immediately. The company has ordered all listed restaurant partners to switch to 100% natural dairy ingredients or instantly delete those items from their online menus. Restaurants that fail to follow these new safety rules will face permanent removal from the platform.

Speaking on this consumer first decision, Zomato emphasized that serving safe, authentic, and high quality food is its top priority. The company aims to bring complete transparency so Indian customers get exactly what they pay for. Next time you order your favorite Paneer Butter Masala on Zomato, you can rest assured it is made from real milk.
