Kolkata Police took strong action by parading three accused men shirtless barefoot and with ropes tied around their waists through a south Kolkata locality. The public reconstruction walk follows the horrific assault and humiliation of a 17 year old boy his friend and his father.
The row erupted in the Sarsuna area after members of a 13 year old girl family caught the teenager kissing her. The girl relatives allegedly confined the teenager and his friend to a room assaulted them and forced the boy to call his father to the spot. Upon arrival the father was threatened with a firearm given an ultimatum and beaten by the group. The victims were then stripped of their clothes and forced to walk naked through the street while onlookers filmed the incident.
Following massive public outrage police arrested the girl father uncle and brother along with another individual accused of filming the act. On Tuesday officers brought the prime accused back to the crime scene stripped to the waist to reconstruct the incident. Local residents gathered at the spot to protest against the accused as police conducted their investigation. Authorities confirmed that medical examinations have been completed and legal proceedings are underway to ensure strict punishment for all involved.
