In a major verdict, a local court in Meerut has sentenced a woman and her secret lover to death for the cold blooded murder of her husband. The gruesome incident, which came to light after the victim body was found hidden inside a large blue plastic drum, had shocked the entire region.
According to police reports, the woman and her lover had planned the murder together to continue their illicit relationship without any disturbance. On the night of the crime, the duo allegedly killed the husband, packed his body tightly inside a blue plastic drum, and attempted to hide it to erase all evidence. However, neighbors became suspicious after a bad smell started coming from the house, leading to a police raid and the discovery of the body.
During the trial, the prosecution presented strong forensic evidence, call records, and eyewitness statements that clearly proved the involvement of both accused. The court observed that the murder was committed in a cold, calculated, and extremely cruel manner. Calling it a "rare of rarest cases", the judge awarded the death penalty to both the wife and her lover. The victim family expressed relief after the verdict and said that justice had finally been delivered. Meanwhile, lawyers for the defense have stated that they plan to appeal against the decision in the High Court.
