Bizarre footage from the Strait of Hormuz shows hundreds of Iranian fishermen in small motorboats hauling brand new iPhone retail packages and designer perfume bottles from the water after container ship GFS Pride sank in the strategic trade corridor. The Singapore flagged cargo vessel carrying over twenty five hundred containers went down following a sudden fire and explosion on board.

All twenty one crew members escaped safely before several shipping containers burst open upon impact. Social media videos show dozens of local boats weaving between half submerged crates, with fishermen scooping luxury goods directly out of the water and even trying to tow entire shipping containers toward the coast.

The cause of the disaster remains disputed between international agencies. While Singaporean maritime authorities reported that an unidentified projectile hit the ship, Iranian naval forces claimed the vessel strayed off course and struck a naval sea mine. Regional authorities warned that drifting debris and unstable floating crates now pose navigation hazards for passing commercial vessels.
