In a major success for the nation the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully launched its new navigation satellite NVS-03. The powerful satellite was sent into space using the GSLV-F18 rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre. This launch is a huge step forward in making India self reliant in space technology.

The main goal of this mission is to restore and strengthen NavIC which is India own regional GPS system. NavIC helps provide accurate location mapping and timing services across India and surrounding areas up to 1,500 kilometers. With the addition of NVS-03 the NavIC system will now work much better and faster for daily users as well as defense forces.

Weighing around 2,250 kilograms NVS-03 carries advanced technology including an Indian made atomic clock for ultra precise time tracking. It also offers the civilian L1 signal band which will help mobile phones vehicles and location apps connect seamlessly to Indian navigation signals. ISRO scientists expressed great joy after the satellite safely reached its target orbit. Experts say this launch will reduce India dependence on foreign GPS systems and power everyday services like train tracking shipping and disaster management with higher accuracy.
