Delhi Police has arrested two people for the sensational murder of a 31 year old HR professional, Yuvraj Singh Manchanda. The arrested persons are his former workplace colleague, Anya Vats, and her husband, Sanyam Sachdeva. Police report that an ongoing financial dispute between them led directly to this shocking crime.
On September 6, Yuvraj, a resident of Sarita Vihar, went to Gurgaon to meet Anya. Before this meeting, he was shopping with his sisters in Lajpat Nagar. He called his family at 7 PM saying he would return home by 10 PM, but his mobile phone was switched off soon after, causing immense panic. His worried family registered an official missing complaint on September 11.
Investigating officers checked CCTV footage, phone call detail records, and IP data, which clearly showed that Yuvraj had last spoken to Anya. Both Anya and Sanyam were unemployed and had quickly fled to Uttarakhand after the murder. Delhi Police tracked their new mobile numbers through surveillance and caught them from Uttarakhand.
During detailed police interrogation, the couple confessed to the crime. They revealed that a major argument broke out inside Yuvraj’s car, during which he was allegedly shot. Horrifyingly, they kept his dead body inside the car for seven long hours before dumping it into a nearby drain in Gurgaon. A local court has now sent both accused to 5-day police custody for further investigation.
