In a massive relief for his supporters Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke is a free man again. A Delhi court granted him conditional bail on Saturday just a day after his dramatic arrest. Dipke was detained by the Delhi Police ahead of his planned Tiranga March. He had organized this massive march to protest against alleged electoral fraud. However police swooped in and stopped the gathering to maintain law and order placing him under preventive arrest for breaching prohibitory rules.
His time in custody did not last long. The Special Executive Magistrate court ordered his release on one strict condition. Dipke had to sign a peace bond worth Rs 50,000. By signing this bond he has officially promised the court that he will maintain peace and show good behavior for an entire year. Police confirmed he was allowed to leave based on this written assurance.
This swift release brought huge comfort to his family. His mother Anita shared that they were under deep stress especially since the arrest happened less than ten days after Dipke grandmother passed away. With the youth leader out of custody all eyes are on his next move. The strict one year rule might limit his actions but his release has definitely energized his party. Will he change his strategy or will the protests continue? Stay tuned.
