In a major development for Indias innovation sector, venture capital firms Aum Ventures and Mirae Asset Venture Investments (MAVI) have announced new funding pools totaling over ₹1,350 crore. This fresh capital is dedicated to backing early and growth stage Indian startups working in deeptech, artificial intelligence (AI), spacetech, and robotics.
Aum Ventures has rolled out its specialized initiative focused on IP led frontier technologies, targeting investments between ₹6 crore to ₹16 crore per startup. Meanwhile, MAVI completed the first close of its second Venture Opportunity Fund at ₹1,125 crore, reflecting strong investor confidence in Indias technology ecosystem.
Deeptech startups focus on advanced engineering and scientific breakthroughs such as satellite propulsion, AI silicon chips, and autonomous robotics which require longer development cycles and high capital investment. With over 5,000 active deeptech startups operating in India, access to specialized venture funding has emerged as a crucial growth driver.
This capital boost directly aligns with Indias national push toward building global intellectual property and manufacturing sovereignty. Industry experts expect the new funds to accelerate research, product testing, and global market expansion for high impact tech companies across the country.
