A horrific road accident in Madhya Pradesh has claimed the lives of fifteen devotees and left nearly thirty others severely injured after a speeding heavy cargo truck rammed into a massive gathering outside the historic Shitala Mata Temple in Gwalior.

The tragic incident occurred late Saturday night as thousands of pilgrims and local residents crowded the temple pathways for festive prayers and offerings. Witnesses reported that a heavy truck descending a nearby slope lost control at high speed, smashing through temporary road barriers and plowing directly into rows of roadside stalls, devotees, and families resting near the entrance gate. The heavy impact crushed pedestrians and brought down portions of the concrete boundary wall, trapping many victims beneath heavy debris.

Local villagers and police rushed to the scene immediately, using emergency equipment and bare hands to pull trapped victims out of the wreckage. Ambulances rushed the injured to regional trauma centers, where doctors confirmed that several survivors are fighting for their lives. Law enforcement officers seized the vehicle and detained the driver, while state authorities announced urgent financial compensation for the affected families and ordered a thorough inspection of heavy vehicle movement near religious sites.
