A major political row has erupted in the national capital as top opposition leaders extend strong support to young student activist Nishu Azad. Associated with the Cockroach Janta Party, Nishu came into the spotlight after her father was brutally assaulted during a demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. The controversy escalated after a viral video surfaced online showing accused influencer Swatantra Bharadwaj boasting about cracking her father head during the protest. Nishu released an emotional video stating that despite filing a official complaint weeks ago, the police failed to arrest the accused while she faced continuous online harassment and threats.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi directly backed Nishu, posting on X that she should not panic because he stands with her. Gandhi questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah over why the accused was walking free despite admitting to the crime. Opposition parties including Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, and Trinamool Congress have united to demand immediate justice.

Following loud protests outside the police station by activists and political leaders like Chandrashekhar Azad, the Delhi Police finally assured that the main accused will be arrested within seventy two hours. Nishu expressed hope that police will take strict action so she can return to school safely without fear.
