How casually people say that, I am in depression, like it has become a trend to be in depression. While there are people who actually suffer from it in silence but don’t announce it like an announcement in public due to reasons like the fear of being called weak, or that nobody will understand what they truly feel, so they just don’t share it. And then there are people who don’t even know they are suffering because they don’t recognise the patterns and think, This is just how I am.

Depression and other mental health problems are not as loud as people think. It’s not that it looks like constant sadness, which is visible to the world. But the reality is, people look fine from the outside but crumble from the inside. They don’t always cry or tell you that they are sad. Sometimes, they just stop feeling anything and become emotionally numb. They feel constant exhaustion not just physically, but now they are even tired of existing and trying, but still not able to figure out anything. They slowly start to distance themselves from others and push people away whom they love because they believe they would be better without them. They will always tell you that they are fine because it feels mentally exhausting to explain things to anyone.

If you know someone who suffers from things like that and they even come to you and tell you about it, please don’t tell them to become strong because they came to you to become vulnerable and not to be called weak. It is very hard for people to talk about it to anyone. So, if you are someone whom people share things like that with, don’t turn away from them, don’t push them away and leave them alone. Even if they tell you to. Don't try to the savior, just try to be there for them. Comfort them when they come to you to become weak.because they might have been swallowing their tears every night before sleeping.
