In a huge boost for India’s technology sector, HyperVault, a specialized data centre subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has acquired 264 acres of land in Hyderabad to build a massive 1 Gigawatt (GW) Artificial Intelligence (AI) data centre campus. HyperVault along with its business partners plans to invest up to ₹70,000 crore in constructing and operating this historic mega project.
This landmark initiative is expected to create several thousand direct and indirect employment opportunities across Telangana, offering a massive push to local job seekers and the state's tech economy. The modern campus is purpose built to help global tech giants and AI companies run heavy computing workloads, train complex models, and support high density graphics processing unit (GPU) systems. The project will be developed in multiple planned phases based on customer demand and evolving technology requirements. To ensure environmental safety, the entire campus will be built using green renewable energy sources, modern liquid cooling infrastructure, and water neutral design principles.
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy described the project as historic, stating that it places Hyderabad directly at the forefront of the global AI revolution. The agreement originated from discussions between state leaders and Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran. TCS CEO K Krithivasan highlighted that Hyderabad provides the ideal scale, top talent, and ecosystem to serve global customers successfully.
