Popular stand up comedian Samay Raina recently met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at a cyber awareness event held in Mumbai. The event was organized to launch a short film named Digital Arrest and promote the state cyber helpline number 1930. Several famous actors, including Pankaj Tripathi and Ashish Vidyarthi, also attended the function.
During the event CM Devendra Fadnavis felicitated Samay Raina for supporting the digital awareness campaign. However, instead of keeping things formal, the comedian turned the moment into a comedy act.
Taking the microphone, Samay cracked jokes about his past run with law enforcement following previous controversies. He told the audience that his relationship with Maharashtra Cyber goes back a long time. He said that he has already saved the helpline number 1930 on his phone because he often gets calls from the police cell.
Samay added that the Maharashtra Cyber team is very active and will catch anyone, whether they are in India or abroad. He laughed and said it was the first time police officers picked up a comedian from his house in the morning not to arrest him, but to honor him. His funny speech made Chief Minister Fadnavis and the audience burst into laughter. Fans on social media praised Samay for handling his past troubles with humor.
