Fast-food giants KFC and Oreo have taken their viral collaboration to a whole new level by introducing a limited edition chicken burger that features chocolate cookie flavors in almost every single bite. The bizarre creation officially launches across KFC restaurants in China on August 28, following a previous successful campaign where the brands introduced Oreo inspired fried chicken.

The unique Oreo Original Recipe Chicken Burger comes packed with a crispy fried chicken thigh fillet and creamy mashed potatoes coated in real crushed Oreo cookie pieces. This entire sweet and savoury filling is placed between two specially designed black, Oreo flavored bread buns that look just like giant chocolate cookie wafers. To make the release even wilder, promotional sets include an Original Recipe chicken flavored Oreo cookie on the side.

Food fans on social media app Weibo are calling it one of the most unusual fast food experiments of the year. While KFC China described the sandwich as a delicious collision of sweet and salty flavors, they have not yet announced how long the item will stay on the menu or if it will ever release in other country markets.

This unconventional menu item adds to a growing trend of experimental food mashups across global fast food chains. For now, adventurous food lovers who want to taste this viral chocolate and fried chicken creation will have to travel to China to grab a bite.
