Security forces have killed one terrorist during a joint operation in Jammu and Kashmir Budgam district on Friday. The operation was carried out by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF after security agencies received specific intelligence about the movement of suspected terrorists. According to officials, the suspected group was moving from Pakherpora in Pulwama district towards Yousmarg in Budgam. Following the information, security forces launched a search operation in the Ashdar Gali area of Budgam.
During the operation, troops noticed suspicious movement and challenged the suspected terrorists. The terrorists then opened fire, leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire between the two sides. In the encounter, one terrorist was neutralised, while security forces recovered an AK rifle from the area. However, another suspected terrorist is believed to be hiding nearby. Security forces have continued their search operation to locate the second suspect. The area is being carefully checked as troops work to ensure that no threat remains.
