In massive news for Dalal Street, the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) has officially set its IPO price band between ₹1,700 and ₹1,785 per equity share. The country premier bourse plans to raise nearly ₹22,562 crore at the upper end of the price band, valuing the exchange at around ₹4.42 lakh crore.
This landmark public issue is entirely an Offer for Sale (OFS) of about 12.64 crore shares by existing institutional investors, including State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, and global funds. Because it is purely an OFS, the proceeds will go directly to the selling shareholders rather than the exchange.
The IPO opens for public subscription on September 17 and runs through September 21. For retail investors, the minimum lot size is fixed at 8 shares, requiring an investment of ₹14,280 at the top price. Market analysts consider this listing a monumental milestone after years of regulatory delays. With retail investors getting a dedicated 35% quota, excitement is sky-high across India to grab a piece of the world largest derivatives exchange.
