The Guwahati Traffic Police issued a detailed movement advisory outlining specific route diversions, entry restrictions, and designated exit corridors to manage heavy crowd congestion during upcoming Durga Puja idol immersion processions across major riverbank locations.

According to official directives issued by the city traffic branch, vehicles carrying immersion idols toward primary locations such as Lachit Ghat and Pandu Port must strictly follow dedicated approach lanes. Vehicles originating from Chandmari and central sectors will proceed via District Library Point, Sessions Court, and Mahatma Gandhi Road, while those heading to Pandu Port must enter exclusively through Adabari Tiniali. To maintain smooth vehicular flow, traffic authorities prohibited idol transport trucks from entering Pandu via Maligaon Chariali and barred DJ music systems and heavy sound rigs near immersion points. Following immersion ceremonies, vehicles will exit systematically through designated departure routes including AT Road, DG Road, and Sadilapur Colony.

City traffic officials advised general commuters, airport passengers, and long distance travellers to bypass congested arterial roads like MG Road and GNB Road by opting for national highway bypasses. Dedicated traffic personnel and emergency assistance units remain deployed across key intersections to enforce road safety and ensure seamless public transit during the festive visual spectacle.
