In a major development raising serious concerns over food safety across India, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has ordered CG Foods India the famous company behind Wai Wai noodles to immediately stop manufacturing certain snack products. The action was taken after food inspectors conducted surprise raids and caught factory staff collecting broken, crushed noodles directly from the floor.
Officials revealed these dirty floor collected noodles were being reprocessed into popular Indian snacks, like bhujia, without any proper heat treatment or hygiene checks. The regulator immediately seized nearly 32,000 kilograms of unsafe stock from the Rajasthan unit. This strict regulatory action is part of a giant nationwide drive by health authorities to clean up food hygiene standards at popular eateries, outlets, and factories.

Fast food giants such as Pizza Hut and Domino have also faced severe action, including outlet license suspensions in recent weeks due to cleanliness and quality violations.
