During his time at OpenAI, Lightcap played a very crucial role as Chief Operating Officer (COO). He built the companies business operations from scratch, growing the commercial team from just 50 people to over 700. He was instrumental in launching ChatGPT Enterprise, which helped big companies use AI tools safely and easily.
In a message to OpenAI employees, Lightcap expressed deep gratitude and stated that he is leaving to start something new. He reassured everyone that he still strongly believes in OpenAI mission and will remain available to support the team over the next few weeks. However, he did not share exact details about his next business plans yet.
