India Post has released an official recruitment notification for over 25,000 Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) positions across the country. This recruitment drive includes vacancies for Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevak roles.
The biggest highlight of this opportunity is that there is no written examination or interview. Selection will be done purely on the basis of Class 10 marks. To be eligible, applicants must be between 18 and 40 years of age. Candidates must have passed Class 10 with passing marks in Mathematics and English, along with proficiency in the local language of their applied region.
In terms of salary, selected Branch Postmasters (BPM) will get a TRCA pay scale ranging from ₹12,000 to ₹29,380 per month. For ABPM and Dak Sevak posts, the pay scale ranges from ₹10,000 to ₹24,470 per month. Interested candidates must complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) starting from 31 August 2026. The main application window and fee payment process will remain open from 2 September to 21 September 2026. The application fee is ₹100 for male candidates in UR, OBC, and EWS categories. However, female candidates, SC/ST, PWD, and transwomen are completely exempted from paying any fee.
