Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Tashkent on Saturday for an official two day visit to Uzbekistan, receiving a warm airport welcome directly from Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The high profile trip marks a crucial step in strengthening India strategic footprint in Central Asia ahead of the regional summit season.
During the visit, PM Modi will engage in comprehensive delegation level talks with President Mirziyoyev. Both leaders are set to review progress across key sectors including trade, energy, digital technology, defence cooperation, and education. Talks will also focus on aligning India Viksit Bharat roadmap with Uzbekistan national development goals to boost bilateral investments and trade channels.
The Prime Minister itinerary in Tashkent includes paying homage at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial and visiting the Mahatma Gandhi Centre to celebrate the historical and cultural bond shared between both nations.
Following his bilateral engagements in Tashkent, PM Modi will travel directly to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit. This diplomatic tour underlines New Delhi active foreign policy aimed at securing stable trade, strong energy partnerships, and enhanced regional security across Central Asia
