Setco Automotive, renowned for its clutch systems in medium and heavy commercial vehicles (MHCVs), has strategically entered the suspension market. It unveiled two new components—the Load Cushion and the Torque Rod Bush—designed to enhance ride comfort and durability for trucks, tippers, trailers, and buses.
Load Cushion: Boosting Shock Absorption
Positioned between the chassis and the axle or leaf spring assembly, the Load Cushion absorbs vertical loads and road shocks. Constructed with robust rubber-to-metal bonding and premium elastic rubber, it offers superior compressive strength, resilience, and long-lasting performance even on rough roads.
Torque Rod Bush: Enhancing Stability and NVH Control
The Torque Rod Bush is installed at both ends of the torque rod that connects the axle to the chassis. It isolates road shocks and vibrations, supports axle articulation on uneven terrain, and assists in reducing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH). Engineered for high dynamic load endurance, it adds structural control and improves driveline comfort.
Aligning With Strategic Growth
With this launch, Setco continues its diversification journey that includes clutch systems and engine cooling products. Chairman & Managing Director Harish Sheth noted this move reinforces their commitment to innovation and quality, aiming to meet evolving commercial vehicle demands.
Manufacturing Strength and Global Reach
Setco operates five manufacturing facilities, meets global standards like IATF‑16949 and ISO, and serves OEMs and aftermarket customers across the US, UK, SAARC countries, and the Middle East. The new suspension components add breadth and depth to its product portfolio.
Why It Matters
- Market Edge: Expanding into suspension parts allows Setco to strengthen its offerings and capture more share in the MHCV ecosystem.
- Customer Benefits: Enhanced suspension leads to more comfortable rides, improved vehicle stability, and fewer maintenance issues for fleet operators.
- Competitive Differentiation: A broader range of quality-engineered products boosts Setco’s position against rivals in India and international markets.
Looking Ahead
Following this milestone, Setco is well-positioned to explore additional chassis and suspension segments. Its strengthened aftermarket presence and OEM partnerships could drive further growth in the evolving commercial vehicle components industry.
