Royal Enfield has expanded its 650cc lineup with the launch of the Shotgun 650. A motorcycle that blends retro charm with modern aggression. It sits between the Super Meteor 650 and the Continental GT 650 in both character and pricing. Its custom-inspired design part bobber, part roadster aimed at riders who want individuality without compromising everyday usability.
The Shotgun 650 runs on a 648cc parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled engine that delivers around 46.4 bhp at 7,250 rpm and 52.3 Nm of torque at 5,650 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The engine is smooth, torquey, and ideal for both relaxed cruising and short bursts of spirited riding. Built on a tubular steel frame, it uses Showa 43mm upside-down forks at the front. Twin shock absorbers at the rear both tuned to handle city streets and open highways comfortably.
The bike gets 320mm front and 300mm rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS, ensuring confident braking performance. Moreover, the Shotgun 650 is one of the most distinctive-looking Royal Enfields yet. It also features a muscular fuel tank, mid-set footpegs, a floating-style seat, bar-end mirrors, and a compact LED headlamp. You can convert the single-seat setup into a dual-seat using the Royal Enfield accessory kit, giving the bike both solo-bobber and two-up riding options. The bike rides on 18-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels, both wrapped in tubeless tyres.

Riders can also customize their motorcycles with over 30 official accessories, including billet parts, flyscreens, and custom seats. Fuel capacity stands at 13.8 litres, which, paired with an average mileage of around 22km/l. Offers a real-world range of roughly 250–300 km. While not the most fuel-efficient in the segment, it compensates with strong mid-range power and a refined engine note that makes every ride enjoyable.
In India, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 starts at ₹3.59 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base Sheetmetal Grey variant. The other color options Plasma Blue, Green Drill, and Stencil White are priced slightly higher, going up to ₹3.73 lakh. Royal Enfield has also released a limited-edition Shotgun 650 “Motoverse Edition”, priced around ₹4.25 lakh, with only 25 units available in India. The Shotgun 650 is perfect for riders who value design, power, and exclusivity in a middleweight motorcycle. It isn’t built purely for long-distance touring like the Super Meteor, and it isn’t as sporty as the Continental GT it sits right in between the two. With its confident stance, premium fit and finish, and proven 650cc engine, the Shotgun 650 stands as one of Royal Enfield boldest creations yet a motorcycle made for those who see riding as both an experience and a statement.
