Land Rover has officially taken the wraps off the new Range Rover Sport SV Carbon Edition ahead of its global debut at Monterey Car Week in California. This high-performance SUV is positioned as the most powerful and exclusive version of the Sport lineup. Yet, carrying forward a distinct carbon-fibre design language and significant engineering upgrades.
Highlights of the SV Carbon Edition
What sets this model apart is its focus on both performance and aesthetics. The SV Carbon Edition gets a number of exposed carbon-fibre components including the hood, bumpers, mirror caps and side vents. The detailing is not just for show it helps with weight reduction and contributes to overall aerodynamic performance. Paired with 23-inch lightweight carbon wheels and carbon ceramic brakes, the SUV sheds almost 76 kilograms compared to the standard model.
Under the hood, power comes from a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine developed in collaboration with BMW. It produces 626 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque. This pushes the SUV from zero to 100 kmph in just 3.6 seconds, with a top speed of 290 kmph.
The SUV also introduces the ‘6D Dynamics’ air suspension system, which eliminates traditional anti-roll bars. This setup improves ride quality and cornering stability at high speeds. Inside the cabin, the edition continues the carbon theme with performance bucket seats, a black interior finish and illuminated SV branding.
Only 2,000 units will be built for global markets, making it one of the rarest Range Rover models to date. The company is expected to reveal market-specific availability and pricing during the unveiling event at Monterey on August 13.
