Holidays and Events In November 2025

November 2025 is packed with cultural, religious, and historical observances across India. The month opens with regional celebrations marking statehood and liberation. Followed by major national festivals like Guru Nanak Jayanti and important heritage commemorations toward the end of the month. It’s a diverse blend of pride, devotion, and tradition that reflects India’s rich cultural rhythm. The first day of November, which falls on a Saturday, will witness three significant state-level holidays Kannada Rajyotsava in Karnataka, Haryana Day, and Puducherry Liberation Day. Kannada Rajyotsava celebrates the formation of Karnataka in 1956, symbolizing unity and linguistic identity. Haryana Day marks the creation of Haryana from Punjab in 1966, while Puducherry observes its Liberation Day, commemorating the end of French colonial rule. Together, these events showcase India’s post-independence state reorganization and regional pride.

The most prominent national holiday will be Guru Nanak Jayanti on November 5, Wednesday. The birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The founder of Sikhism and one of the most revered spiritual leaders of India. Devotees across the country, especially in Punjab, Delhi, and parts of Haryana, will take part in processions known as Nagar Kirtans, recite hymns, and participate in langars (community feasts). The festival is not only religious but also carries a strong social message of equality, unity, and selfless service. Interestingly, the same day also marks Kartik Purnima. A sacred full-moon day observed by Hindus and Jains. Known for ritual bathing, prayers, and fairs along holy rivers like Ganga and Godavari.

Another important event this month is Kanakadasa Jayanti, observed on November 8 in Karnataka. It honors the poet-saint Kanakadasa, whose compositions continue to shape Kannada literature and Bhakti traditions. Around the same time, Meghalaya Wangala Festival will be celebrated by the Garo community. Known as the “100 Drums Festival,” it marks the end of the harvest season and honors the Sun God for a good yield. These local festivals add vibrant cultural colors to India’s northeastern and southern landscapes.

From November 1 to 15, the nation will celebrate Bharat Parv 2025. Event dedicated to the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Various states will host exhibitions, cultural programs, and patriotic events highlighting his legacy and contributions to India’s unity. Later in the month, Punjab will commemorate the 350th martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji on November 25. The state will organize week-long events starting November 20, including Nagar Kirtans, devotional gatherings, and educational programs reflecting on his sacrifice for religious freedom. In short, November 2025 is not just a month of rest days but a calendar of reflection and celebration. It moves from regional pride to spiritual devotion and then to national remembrance.
