Badshah Sets New Benchmark With Maybach Eyewear Collaboration

Indian rapper-producer Badshah has rewired expectations for Indian creatives in global luxury fashion through a landmark collaboration with German luxury house Maybach Icons of Luxury. For the first time, Maybach has co-designed a global eyewear line with an Indian entertainment personality a collection that fuses hip-hop culture, Indian heritage and artisanal craftsmanship. The capsule debuted in Dubai in late November 2025. Includes eight handcrafted pieces built around two of Maybach signature designs: THE ARTIST III and THE KING III.

The ARTIST III optical series channels Badshah musical roots. The frames feature temple detailing styled as sound waves a nod to his journey in music production. Colours such as electric yellow and deep blue inject youthful energy into a silhouette normally associated with minimalism and subtle luxury. On the sunglass front, THE KING III series draws inspiration from India’s landscapes and wildlife. There is a snow-camouflage edition referencing Himalayan terrain, a jungle-inspired pattern evoking dense Indian forests, and a bold “Tigers of India” model in striking orange paying tribute to the country tigers.

The highlight of the collection sits at the peak of exclusivity a Diamond-Studded Snow Camouflage version of KING III. Hand-assembled in Germany, this version hosts 90 diamonds embedded across the camouflage frame. Only five worldwide will ever exist. Price tags reflect the rarity and craftsmanship involved. Optical frames start around ₹2.79 lakh, while sunglasses begin at ₹3.23 lakh. The diamond-studded masterpiece commands ₹50.88 lakh. Maybach sees this collaboration not as a symbolic gesture but as a strategic move. The brand recognises a shift in global luxury consumption: younger buyers influenced by music, fashion and identity instead of legacy alone. For Maybach, aligning with a creative like Badshah brings cultural relevance and access to aspirational global audiences.

For Badshah, the partnership represents more than a licence deal. It feels personal, rooted in self-expression and craft. He spent time in Maybach German atelier and shaped every design element. He said balancing visual impact with comfort pushed him creatively. The timing makes sense. India’s luxury eyewear market is growing rapidly. Demand for design-led, limited-edition frames is rising among buyers who treat eyewear as art not just accessories. This collaboration changes the playbook. It signals that Indian artists can now shape global luxury products not just endorse them. When cultural expression, heritage and craftsmanship meet, new benchmarks emerge.
