Samsung Galaxy A54 5G emerges as a compelling mid-range smartphone

The Samsung Galaxy A54 5G offers a solid blend of design, performance and longevity while staying accessible. With a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display that refreshes at 120 Hz, the viewing experience feels smooth and vibrant. Powering the device is Samsung Exynos 1380 chipset, built on a 5 nm process, paired with typically 8 GB RAM and either 128 GB or 256 GB of storage. This configuration delivers more than capable everyday performance and handles multitasking with ease.

Photography receives a strong focus. On the back, a 50 MP primary camera with optical image stabilization anchors a triple-camera setup. That includes a 12 MP ultra-wide lens and a 5 MP macro lens. A 32 MP front camera handles selfies and video calls. All this sits in a body that weighs around 202 g and supports IP67 water and dust resistance, a notable perk in this price segment.

Battery life stands out as well. A 5000 mAh cell gives plenty of juice for a full day or more, and while charging isn’t extremely fast, the balance of battery and efficiency makes for a dependable everyday companion.
Samsung promises four years of major Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates for this model. That level of support flips the usual lifespan narrative for mid-range devices and adds real value.
On the cost front, pricing in India starts from around ₹25,999 for the base 8 GB/128 GB variant. The 8 GB/256 GB version runs higher.

There are a few compromises. The charging speed lags behind some rivals. The macro lens doesn’t capture standout results compared with the main and ultra-wide sensors. Performance is competent but not top-tier among all devices at this budget. If you prioritise a refined screen, good camera basics, robust software support and durability, the Galaxy A54 5G makes an excellent case. Just be aware that if ultra-fast charging or best-in-segment camera performance matter to you, you may want to consider other options.
