Italian brand Aprilia unveiled the SR GT 400 at the EICMA 2025 show in Milan, marking its entry into the crossover scooter segment. This model blends urban agility with touring capability and light off-road readiness, positioning itself uniquely in the global two-wheeler landscape. Under the body sits a 400cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing roughly 35 hp and 37.7 Nm of torque. Paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) geared for smooth delivery in mixed riding conditions. The frame features USD forks, twin gas-charged rear shocks. A ground clearance of 190 mm, hinting at light trail capacity beyond city streets.

Styling takes cues from adventure bikes, not typical scooters. A tall, adjustable windscreen improves protection at speed. While knuckle guards, muscular bodywork and a step-up saddle speak to both style and versatility. LED triple-lamp clusters and large wheels 16″ front, 14″ rear further strengthen the crossover character. Feature-wise the SR GT 400 doesn’t hold back. A 5-inch TFT display offers smartphone connectivity and navigation. While keyless ignition, USB-C charging port and generous under-seat storage enhance everyday usability. On the safety front a 300 mm front disc, 240 mm rear disc and dual-channel ABS arrive standard. Turning focus to India, Aprilia has not confirmed a launch date but insiders suggest the SR GT 400 could eventually come here. Given India’s growing appetite for premium scooters and crossover two-wheelers, the model seems well placed. Local market entry would depend on aligning costs, regulatory compliance and positioning against rivals in the 250-400cc range.

For potential Indian buyers the appeal is clear: a high-feature scooter with serious engine capacity, off-road flair and touring readiness all in one package. That said, the premium nature of the model may place it well above mainstream commuter scooters. Buyers will weigh the performance and equipment against cost, running expenses and service ecosystem. In short Aprilia has teased a bold new offering that blurs scooter and adventure bike boundaries. If and when it lands in India the SR GT 400 could redefine expectations in its segment.
