Superstar Rajinikanth is set to headline Coolie, a highly ambitious action thriller directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. What’s turning heads across the nation is not just the film’s scale but its extraordinary cast. The movie brings together some of Indian cinema’s biggest names Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Upendra, Shruti Haasan. Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir, and Reba Monica John all under one roof, making it one of the most significant pan-India casting coups in recent memory.

Aamir Khan’s Fiery Climax Cameo

Bollywood icon Aamir Khan has a powerful 15-minute cameo in the film, featuring a climactic face-off with Rajinikanth. The high-octane sequence was shot over ten days in Rajasthan and promises to be one of the movie’s major highlights. Interestingly, Aamir reportedly agreed to the role without reading the full script. Driven purely by his respect for Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj.

Upendra and Nagarjuna Join the Action

Kannada superstar Upendra confirmed that he shares screen space with both Aamir Khan and Rajinikanth, adding depth and intrigue to the storyline. Telugu veteran Nagarjuna, playing a character named Simon, adds further weight to the ensemble, reinforcing the film’s pan-India appeal. Each actor brings a legacy and fanbase of their own, making Coolie a true convergence of cinematic powerhouses.

Massive Production and Global Release

The makers of Coolie shot the film across diverse locations, including Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, and Bangkok. They allocated a massive budget of ₹350–400 crore, making it one of the most expensive Indian productions to date. Music composer Anirudh Ravichander created the film’s soundtrack. The team has scheduled the theatrical release for August 14, 2025, strategically aiming to capitalize on the Independence Day weekend for maximum box office impact.

Coolie isn’t just a film it’s an event. With Rajinikanth leading a dream ensemble and Lokesh Kanagaraj at the helm, this project promises to redefine pan-Indian cinema and deliver a theatrical spectacle fans won’t forget.
